Nancy Sue Applegate, 71, of Wallingford, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at her home after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born at Pleasant Corners, Ohio, October 5, 1950, a daughter of the late Wayne and Opal Heskett Coffenberger. Nancy worked for the Department of Health in Ohio as a hospital aide and in nursing homes. Writing was her passion. She loved to write poetry in her spare time. She also raised a garden and did sewing. Nancy was of the Christian faith.
Left to cherish Nancy’s memories are a daughter, Stacy Applegate of Wallingford; a son, Michael Shane Applegate of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Chea Applegate, Nicholas Castle, Briana Castle, and Ashley Applegate; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Applegate, on May 15, 2005; a son, Shawn Applegate; a sister; and three brothers.
At Nancy’s request, there will be no service or visitation at this time.
Burial will be in Mineer Cemetery.
