Rita Faye Bevins Cropper, 67, of Tollesboro, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at UK Healthcare in Lexington.
Rita was born in Lewis County on April 20, 1958, a daughter of the late Louis and Lorene May Bevins.
She attended Union Baptist Church. Rita enjoyed watching her grandson race and her granddaughter compete in pageants. She looked forward to daily FaceTime calls with her grandchildren and cherished those conversations. Her grandchildren were her number-one priority, and she was known for spoiling them with her homemade biscuits and gravy.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Gary Cropper; one daughter, Delta Pruitt of Vanceburg; two sons, Michael Cropper (LaCassa) of Flemingsburg and Kurt Cropper (Alicia) of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Rosie Noble of Tollesboro and Rena Meadows (Ronnie) of Petersville; one brother, Roger Bevins of Vanceburg; seven grandchildren, Dedrea, Dustin, Gabby, Gracey, Gage, Everleigh, and Daniel; and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Henry, and Emerson. Many other family members and friends will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary James Cropper; four brothers, Donald Bevins, Calvin Bevins, Allen Bevins, and Jimmy Bevins; and five sisters, Peggy Bramel, Joyce Earls, Carrie Rose, Bonnie Sue Bevins, and Garnett Bevins.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Bro. Phil Cropper officiating. Burial will be in Burtonville Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Cropper, Michael Cropper, Gage Cropper, Dustin Stone, Michael Scott, and Roger Bevins.
