Darrell Dean “Bud” Applegate, 74, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Vanceburg Hills.
He was born in Lewis County on August 13, 1951, a son of the late Adolphus and Cynthia Canell Applegate.
He enjoyed carpentry and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Alice Clark and Nellie Marie Bloomfield of Vanceburg; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. Several nieces and nephews will also sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Margie Polley, Helen Ruth Gottfried, Verna Bond, and Donna Thoroughman, and six brothers, Harold Applegate, Fred Applegate, George Applegate, Clifford Applegate, Allen Ray Applegate, and Leslie Eugene Applegate.
Services will be at noon Monday, April 13, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
