Betty Buckner

Betty Nolen Buckner, 85, of Camp Dix, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born in Lewis County on December 5, 1940, a daughter of the late Earsel and Ethel Butler Nolen.

Survivors include four daughters, Patricia (Gary) Carpenter, Rita Rister, and Wanda Rickett of Vanceburg, and Pam Buckner (Peyton Eulett) of Fleming County; six sons, Wilford Buckner, Lonnie (Rhonda) Buckner, Rickie (Tracy) Buckner, Dannie (Junnie) Buckner, Darrell (Amy) Buckner, and John (Andrea) Scott of Vanceburg; one sister, Ruth Carroll of Vanceburg; one brother, Homer Nolen of Vanceburg; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends will also sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Wilford Buckner; one daughter, Lisa Buckner; two sisters, Rosemary Nolen and Bonnie Rister; three brothers, William Nolen, Bobby Nolen, and Larry Nolen; and two sons-in-law, Dallas Rickett and David Rister.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix, with Bro. Rickie Buckner and Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.

Friends may visit after 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix.

Pallbearers will be Kendal Buckner, Tommy Buckner, Brandon Buckner, Shawn Carpenter, Selby Buckner, and Greg Rister.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wilford Buckner, Lonnie Buckner, Rickie Buckner, Dannie Buckner, Darrell Buckner, and John Scott.
