Anna Lea Spriggs

Anna Lea Spriggs, 72, of Norton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

She was born at Garrison on June 5, 1954, a daughter of Doris and the late John Thornsberry. Anna was a retired LPN who served countless families at Pikeville Medical Center. Before becoming a nurse, Anna and her husband Gene worked with Lawrence County EMS.

After retirement, Anna spent the remainder of her life serving her community through her nonprofit, where she was always willing to help without question. Anna was known for her selflessness and her faith in the Lord. She welcomed everyone with open arms, no matter their history. Anna enjoyed sewing, crafts, houseplants, and was known for her vast collection of paperweights. She poured her heart into her family, supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Doris June Thornsberry; a daughter, Jodi Michelle Spriggs; granddaughter/daughter Sierra Paige Noble and husband Dakota; grandson/son Tyler Scott Spriggs and wife Kendra; granddaughters Maranda Roshelle McGraw and husband Bret, Maleeah Joandra Peters and significant other Adran, and Mahalah Donae Peters; grandsons Blakelee Michael Cavins and wife Cassidy, Andrew Martan Cavins and significant other Kira, Adrien Chase Spriggs, Dominick Lee Spriggs, and Jerimiah Scott Spriggs; great-grandchildren Melanie, Jaxson, Mylah, Lakeland, Franklin, Beau, and Kennedi, as well as one great-grandchild on the way, Lainey; siblings Rick, Donna, Tim, and her practice baby sister Marsha; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her father, Anna was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Norman Eugene Spriggs, and a son, Scott Eugene Spriggs.

Graveside services will be Sunday, August 16, at 1:00 p.m. in Yatesville Memorial Gardens at Louisa.

Wilson Funeral Home in Louisa is caring for arrangements.
