Work is well underway to establish a public shooting range in Lewis County, thanks to the efforts of local officials, local residents and the National Rifle Association.
The National Rifle Association recently approved a grant that will pay for the completion of a public shooting range on Ky. Rt. 59 just south of Vanceburg.
Judge Executive Todd Ruckel said progress on the facility is being made and he is proud of the efforts to get the next phase completed.
The NRA grant was in the amount of $13,567, half of the total amount needed to complete work on the facility.
“The vision of the board members of the Lewis County Shooting Sports Club included establishing an outdoor shooting range here,” Ruckel said.
