Tyra Janell Hamilton, 12-years-old, of Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
She was born January 4, 2006.
She was born January 4, 2006, in Morehead, a daughter of Marissa Zornes of Vanceburg.
Tyra attended Southern Manor Baptist Church and enjoyed going to church, singing, playing with her friends and her dog, Gizmo, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her mother, Tyra is survived by two brothers, Corbin Carpenter and Tennison Carpenter, both of Vanceburg; two sisters, Isabella Carpenter and Jocelyn Carpenter, both of Vanceburg; and her maternal grandmother who raised her, Montana Zornes of Vanceburg. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Paul Zornes.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, with Bro. Arthur Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Henderson Cemetery on KY 59 in Carter County.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be David Pelfrey, Jason King, Lonnie Bailey, Cody Carpenter, Kaleb Carpenter, and Eric Carpenter.
