Deborah Hord Wood, 71, of Maysville, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Mason County on April 26, 1955, a daughter of the late Russel S. and Mary L. Shoemaker Hord. She was the youngest of 18 children.
Debbie enjoyed shopping and caring for her cats and dogs.
Survivors include two sisters, Bonnie Hord of Maysville and Linda Werline of Tollesboro, and two brothers, Roy Hord and Ronnie Hord of Maysville. Many other family members and friends will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald L. Wood; seven sisters, Francis Sweet, Anna Mae Gibson, Katherine Basham, Betty Lee, Nan Kelley, Addie Jane Blythe, and Carol Hord; and six brothers, Bill Hord, Roger Hord, Richard Hord, Gary Hord, Bud Hord, and Winn Arvid Hord.
Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with Bro. Sam Bevard officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery in Mason County.
Friends may visit after 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Jolly, Brody Thoroughman, Jake Werline, Tim Hord, Clinton Hord, Trenton Applegate, and Dale Hord.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence T. Simms and Russell Hords.
