Leslie Handshoe, 77, of Garrison, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.
Leslie was born May 20, 1949, in Floyd County, a son of the late Floyd C. and Ailene Conley Handshoe.
He proudly served in the United States Army and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Jesse Ruark of West Portsmouth, Ohio, and James Ruark of Kingman, Arizona; two grandchildren, Tristan Nicole Ruark and Hunter Allen Ruark; and several brothers and sisters. Many other family members and friends will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Patricia Rickett Handshoe.
Services will be at Noon Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
