William “Tracy” Cassidy, 65, of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born in Fleming County on December 18, 1960, a son of the late John and Pauline Emmons Cassidy.
Tracy was a man whose heart beat to the rhythm of bluegrass music. He played with several bands throughout the years and found joy in every note, whether on his banjo, guitar, or bass. He was often found surrounded by friends and family, picking tunes and creating memories.
He dedicated over 45 years of his life working as an electrician, a career he took great pride in. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Vanceburg Hills Nursing Home.
Above all, he was a proud grandfather to his grandson, Weston, who meant the world to him. The love he had for Weston was unmatched, and the time they shared together was among his greatest joys.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Sheila Moore Cassidy; his son, Derick Stone, and Derick’s girlfriend, Caitlin Oliver; and his cherished grandson, Weston Stone. Many other family members and friends will also miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Cooper and Shawna Cassidy.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Happy Hollow Union Church, 531 Happy Hollow Road at Tollesboro, with Bro. Kent Moore, Jerry Bloomfield, and Bro. Jim Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Hollow Cemetery.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Happy Hollow Union Church.
Pallbearers will be Archie Duncan, Donnie Moran, Tony Jarrells, John Huff, Darrin Stanfield, and Mole Gentry. Weston Stone will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
