It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frankie Highfield, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville.
Frankie was deeply loved by his family, and the memories, love, and laughter he shared with those around him will be cherished for years to come.
He was born on July 30, 1948, to Clifton “Red” Highfield and Mary “Molly” Hampton Highfield.
On June 21, 1980, Frankie married his beloved wife, Betty Clark Highfield, and together they built a life centered around family and love. He was a proud and loving father to Stacy (Scott) Lewis and Chris (Lakin) Highfield.
Frankie was a proud grandfather to Caleb (Jessica) Lewis, Molly Lewis, Samuel Lewis, Colton Highfield, and Corbin Highfield, and a loving great-grandfather to Kaiden Villarreal, Chandler Lewis, and Jillian Lewis. He is also survived by one sister, Carolyn Ruark. His family was one of the greatest joys of his life, and the time he spent with those he loved created memories they will forever hold close to their hearts.
Frankie was a bus driver for the Lewis County School System and later drove a dump truck for Bill Hackworth and Harry Tully.
Frankie loved God and enjoyed attending church whenever he was able, particularly Trinity Church at Trinity and Hickory Grove Church at Tollesboro. His faith remained an important part of his life.
In addition to his parents, Frankie was preceded in death by his sisters, Opal Truesdell and Betty Bayless, and his brother, Otto Highfield.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with Bro. Gene Benton and Bro. David Hickerson officiating.
Friends may visit after 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Ruark, Buster Ruark, Austin Truesdell, Ernie Truesdell, Gene Bayless, and Allen Ruark.
Frankie leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and countless memories that will continue to bring comfort in the days ahead. His love for his family, his faith in God, and the life he shared with those around him will remain a treasured part of his legacy.
