Delores Cooper

Delores J. Iery, née Cooper, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Miami County, Ohio.

She was born on March 12, 1939, in Vanceburg to Chester Cooper and Florence Gims.

A strong-willed woman who never met a stranger, Delores carried her warmth into every room she entered. She cherished her grandchildren deeply, fueling their lives with the boundless love only a grandmother can offer. Her passion for crafts, bingo, and puzzles highlighted not only her creativity but also her patient and dedicated approach to life. She enjoyed going to Debbie’s Restaurant as often as she could. 

Delores devoted thirty years to her career with Aramark, retiring with pride from an esteemed tenure marked by diligence and an unwavering work ethic. Beyond her professional life, she embraced her family above all else, creating a legacy of strength and affection that continues to inspire.

She is survived by three daughters,Teresa (Robert) Knepfle, Fonda Williams, and Tamey (Mike) Iery; one sister, Janet Rayburn; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Iery; a great-granddaughter, Sofie D’Allura; a brother, Gary Cooper; and a nephew, Randy Cooper. 

Services for Delores Iery were held on Tuesday, June, 16, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio.
