Michael Lykins

It is with deep sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Michael Lykins, who departed this life on June 11, 2026, at the age of 71.

Born on May 6, 1955, Michael lived a life defined by dedication, service, strength, and, above all, love for his family. He devoted much of his professional career to serving his country through his work with the United States Navy. Following his retirement, his commitment and expertise continued as a contractor supporting the Navy, a role he faithfully fulfilled for many years.

While Michael’s accomplishments in his career were significant, his greatest pride and joy came from his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether offering guidance, support, or simply his time, Michael’s generosity knew no bounds. He believed family was life’s greatest treasure and spent his years making sure those he loved knew they could always count on him.

Michael is survived by his beloved children, Patrick Mitchell Lykins and his wife, Shelly, and Valerie Lykins. He was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Victoria Lykins, whom he loved dearly and whose memory remained forever close to his heart.

He also leaves behind five treasured grandchildren: Jacob Lykins, Brieanna Lykins, Patrick Mitchell Lykins Jr., Aiden Stewart, and Gracie Henry, each of whom brought him tremendous pride and happiness.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Viola Lykins, whose values and love helped shape the remarkable man he became.

He is survived by his loving siblings: his twin brother, Mitchell Lykins and his wife, Paula; brothers, Mark Lykins and Charles Lykins; sisters, Bonnie Gray; Sharon Applegate and her husband, Bentley; Mary Helterbride and her husband, Mike; Karen Flannigan and her husband, Mitch; and Pauline Westerfield.

In addition to his parents and daughter, Michael was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Rickett, Dee Mefford, and Betty Lykins.

Michael also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. His kindness, unwavering loyalty, and selfless spirit touched countless lives and will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A man of quiet strength and unwavering devotion, Michael measured success not by what he achieved for himself, but by the love he gave to others. His family was the center of his world, and his legacy will live on through the lives he helped shape, the values he passed down, and the countless memories that will be treasured for generations.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that love leaves an imprint that death can never erase. Michael’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
